Outdoor Explorer Clubs Program
The main objective of the Outdoor Explorer clubs program is to increase student engagement and foster school community through immersing students with their peers in outdoor environments. Once students are immersed in these environments they are then given opportunities to bring ideas from those environments, back to the school to help design spaces that reflect the places they have explored.
Students have the opportunity to explore local National and State Parks, with the purpose of them understanding the following elements of our local area; the volcanic bed that our school is built on, the local birdlife and the plants that have thrived in that area. Here they will then have opportunities to research these environments and design school spaces including garden areas and bird habitats to bring their outdoor experiences back to the school community.
We are looking forward to expanding this club to many exploring opportunities as the school grows, both in the local area and further abroad!
